One Big Snowy Disappointment....

Not for nothin', but I got to thinking that the longer we wait for this new CD and DVD, the higher the likelihood is that we're not gonna see it/them at all.

Now, nobody would be happier than I to see especially the new DVD. It was first announced on 3/8/07, and as we know, was set to air on 10/7/09 in RI on PBS. It was actually described on the "official" web site as being the following:"

This film is going to be fantastic - they shot some great collages of stuff, as well as scanning a fairly large amount of material to use on screen in various ways. They will be spending four days with the lads later this month, and I expect the interviews they get to be both the best and most comprehensive ever seen."

This coming from a site that seemed to quickly wash its hands of any association with it when it was unexpectedly delayed and now appears to be in video limbo.

Anyway, the waters are somewhat murkier when it comes to a "new" CD. One was first announced on 08/14/03, as follows:

"August 14th... If all goes to plan, there's going to be a brand new STUDIO CHAD AND JEREMY ALBUM! Jeremy is staying in Idaho
for the rest of the month so that the duo can not only play a charity gig at the end of the month, but also so that a new studio album, the first in 20 years, can be recorded. The theme of the album will be a celebration of 40 Years of C&J. Chad says the album will "follow the wedding analogy - something old, something new,
something borrowed, and something blue". The album will be an unplugged style affair, and will feature acoustic versions of some Chad and Jeremy classics, but the bulk of the album is planned to be comprised of previously unheard compositions. The "something borrowed" slot at this point will probably be the Beatles' "I'll Be Back", which they recently performed as a part of their live set in Cleveland."

Now, that's nearly 7 years in the making. There have been various reports through the years as to where they stood, and why, on a new release, but the simple fact is that there still isn't one. So this one better be good, right :)?

All of this and more is on the web site in the archived news section, so you can spend some time there, as I have, looking this stuff up. More on other discarded projects to follow.

I gotta go and check the snow depth and see if I gotta start up the blower one more time :).
