Comment about Nimbit

Wanted to quickly post this comment I received abut Nimbit, just so we all can see it easily :):

"hey tony -

most nimbit artists post their music/merch/tickets/VIP bundles for sale on nimbit storefronts (on their website with nimbitSkin, Facebook with nimbit MyStore, myspace/blogs/etc with nimbitOMT) AND publish through nimbit to 3rd party digital distributors including: iTunes, Rhapsody, eMusic, AmazonMP3, etc.

so it's not an either / or - it's a be everyplace your fans are, maximize your exposure, and do the most you can "direct-to-fan" so you can buid a tighter relationship with your fan base.

Hope this helps

-Bob"

Thanks Bob, it does help explain its potential, and I appreciate your explanation as to how it's designed to work.

With that in mind, and specifically to the point of C&J and their use of it, it appears to me that while it is being used to service an existing fan base, it really hasn't been used to produce any growth or expand the existing base, at least not that I've seen. It does seem to make it easier to sell to "family," and maybe they are holding back on expansion until the CD and DVD eventually arrive.
