My Birthday

Ah, so we had a birthday last week. Yessir, 61 years of age now, with more aches and pains than I can recall ever having, and that would include the twice weekly mile runs when I was in college gym class. I know some of them are due to my blood pressure meds, and others are due to limited excercise, and others to tight socks and such, but it's all somewhat painful anyway.

Friday night was the birthday celebration, at MacKenzies Bar & Grill, watching my two kids perform for a packed and fairly drunk bar. There are pictures, video, and audio from the night, and I can only say that I couldn't move. Literally couldn't move from my seat due to the packed nature of the show. I don't go to bars any more, though I probably should, if only to get out some, so I don't know if the place is always that packed on a Friday night. I hope, though, that my daughter's show brought more than a few folks.

This will now become Chad & Jeremy relevant as fellow C&J Yahoo group member Bonnie Margolis (who, I am ashamed to say, is way more famous than I previously gave her credit for) was not only in attendance, but also brought a tasty birthday cake. One of my two (George was seeing Kenny Rankin in a part of CT that I never knew existed) bestest friends, Woody, was also there, claiming to be Lisa's father. Anyway, before we all met George, Woody & I were the Chad & Jeremy of the East Coast, as previously pictured and explained here. We were not, however, as successful, nor was there any direct competition, but still.

We brought the band home, and for about 2 hours, sat on the floor and did some singing. Patrick Thomas, Seth Barbiero and Syd, as well as Lisa & TJ. Some talented kids. Best surprise after listening to my son do some nice guitar fills? Everybody knew Beatles songs. And Band songs :).

Good birthday, though George was missed. Although, if he were there, we all(George, Woody & I) would have been incorrigible. Which, after all, is what we do best.

More beer :).

Looking forward, this week, to Chad & Jeremy on the Cousin Bruce Sirius radio show on Wed., and then seeing C&J on Saturday in NJ, with Bonnie & Nancy. Geez, if I had a job this would be a finer week, but all in all, it's really not that bad at all anyway.
