Twitter

I have no use for Twitter, do not understand it's value, and believe that it's just one more get rich quick flash in the pan idea for some lucky person. You all can have it. And I'm sorry if I'm disappointing my followers, but I really don't have anything important to say.

That said, because Chad & Jeremy have joined the Twitter population, I need to remind myself to check Twitter from time to time. So, today I did, and found a live version of All The Harvests from Mohegan Sun, on 4/26. I thought it odd that I, who probably has more free time than a lot of you and who spends endless hours on line, had not found some reference to this song posting somewhere amongst the Yahoo group, C&J web site, MySpace, or Facebook. But no, no clues there, and it was just happenstance that I found it, 18 days after it was posted.

And so my comment. I realize that I am not really a part of the MySpace/Facebook/ Twitter generation. I wonder how many Chad & Jeremy fans of my generation (those who go to the shows and buy the records and get the autographs) actually even know about Twitter or Facebook, or MySpace, and/or know how to access any of them, or have the time to do so. Guessing that a great many of them do not, one needs to wonder about the value of putting stuff like this song up, where few can either find it or take advantage of it.

Of course, I could be wrong. But geez, people, if Chad & Jeremy are kind enough to release a very recent live track, it would be good to let us know, rather than have a few of us stumble over it.

I'd love to hear some comments :). I am grateful for the track, please don't misunderstand. I am also mindful of the fact that an undetermined number of other folks won't get to hear it, unless someone tells them about it. Pass the word, please.

  1. IIRC there was a C&J MySpace bulletin about it - something, anyway, alerted me to it, rather than just stumbling across it. I certainly wasn't a tweeter until then! And Jeremy does mention it on one of the YouTube clips. I'm on the baby laptop with only one browser, so canna be fashed to go back and forth to find out which, sorry... :)

  2. Tony, your blog has become a habit! When we went online at our house many years ago, there was very little information online about C&J. After a while, I stopped looking, and now I find tons of it! So they're on Twitter, too.

I have to admit it: My company started twittering recently and I find it useful to keep our customers updated.

I decided to try it myself, just to see how it works.
