I gotta say, email can be a great thing.
I've had the opportunity to email Chad on several occasions over the past 2 years, and it all started because of a request that Caswell Cooke made on YouTube for info about or copies of the Chad & Jeremy TV appearances in the 60's. I was able to help, and sent a DVD to Caswell, with some compliments directed to C&J, as, of course, they were the architects of my teenage romanticism (yes I made that phrase up just now, and yes I am very proud of it). Anyway, Caswell passed that on to Chad, who was nice enough to email me his thanks. And so I have Chad's email address.
And so again, last evening and under the influence, I sent Chad a track from my daughter's new CD, as a way of passsing on Lisa's thanks to me for the music we always had playing in our house when she was growing up. I mentioned in my note that C&J were, in effect, an influence of sorts on Lisa's music, so listen to what's been produced. He was nice enough to rate it 9 out of ten, noting that me kid's voice, and the song, were haunting.
And so finally, I am able to thank one of my musical heros for his influence on my kid's music, no matter how indirect or circuituous that influence might have been. I can't even imagine the possibility of that taking place in the 60's or even the 90's, but it has taken place today.
Onward, I need a beer :).
